As students prepare for college and career opportunities, demonstrating college readiness is an important step. Florida College System (FCS) institutions may use college readiness assessments to help determine the courses that best match a student's current skill level. These assessments are designed to support student success by identifying strengths and any areas where additional preparation may be beneficial.
If assessment results indicate that a student could benefit from additional support, developmental education courses may be recommended. These courses help strengthen math, reading, and writing skills, providing a strong foundation for success in college-level coursework and future career goals.
Students interested in Dual Enrollment are required to demonstrate college readiness through approved placement test scores or other qualifying measures established by our partnering college, Pasco-Hernando State College. Meeting these requirements helps ensure that students are prepared for the rigor of college courses while still in high school.
Whether students are transitioning directly from high school to college or continuing their education after some time away, these assessments can help identify opportunities to refresh and strengthen academic skills, building confidence and readiness for future success.
